Welcome my blog. This site is a place to showcase my writing but it is also a place for writers to come experiment, play, and practice the craft of writing. Just as a musician practices scales or an artist paints a still life, portrait, or landscape; writers must exercise their palette of words, images, and emotions.
Several things will be going on here. First I am adding each day a line or two from a work of mine as I am posting it on Twitter. This could be a screenplay, poem, prose, or libretto. It will be a continuing saga.
Next, I am eliciting the visiting writers to add to another continuing saga that may or may not, go on twitter as well. This story will be started with a scenario that can then go in any direction the contributing writers take it. As one story ends, we will start a new one and I encourage starting scenario ideas to be left in comments.
And finally, we will do writing exercises that can be posted here and critiqued by readers. As you post your exercises, I will place them in their own blog so comments can be added. Be sure and write your username under the title of your post. Please leave suggestions for future writing exercises in the comments as well.
I will also publish articles on various writing subjects and resources. This should be a fun and interactive website and a great place to come a write when you need to practice your scales.
